VR tours for museums and heritage sites
Let your visitors step into the past
MuseumVR creates guided virtual-reality tours that take visitors back to your site as it once was. We build the tour, bring the headsets and the staff, and run a free trial. You pay nothing up front.

How it works
A tour of your own, with no cost and no risk to try it.
We build your tour
We research your site and its period and build a guided VR tour around it, at no cost to you.
Free one-week trial
We bring the headsets and our own staff and run the tour for your visitors for a week.
See the numbers
We share how many visitors took part and what they said, so you can judge it on real results.
Terms on footfall
If you would like to continue, we agree terms based on the number of visitors. No up-front fees.
Why museums choose VR tours
Show what is gone
Ruins and objects come alive when visitors can stand in the building they came from, full of people, sound and colour.
Nothing to buy or staff
We supply standalone Meta Quest 3 headsets, charging and trained staff. There is nothing to install and no cables.
Simple for every visitor
No controllers: visitors choose by looking at a button. The tour then guides them, with narration and captions.
Seven languages
Narration in English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese, chosen in the headset.
Grounded in evidence
Built from archaeology and inscriptions, with reconstructions clearly explained. We work with your curators.
A reason to visit
A new experience to promote, for school groups, families and international visitors alike.
Our first tour
Aquae Sulis: Roman Bath, AD 205
Ride into Roman Bath on a wagon along the London road, past roadside tombs and the busy suburb of Walcot. Climb down at the town's earthen bank, walk through the north gate and down the main street, then into the sacred precinct of Sulis Minerva, the steaming spring and the Great Bath.
- About 15 minutes, fully guided
- Seven languages, with captions
- Real inscriptions and real people from Roman Bath

Questions museums ask
How much does it cost?
There is nothing to pay up front. We build a tour for your museum at no cost and run a free one-week trial on site. After the trial we agree terms with you based on footfall: the number of visitors who take the tour. If the trial does not work for you, you owe nothing.
What happens during the free trial?
For one week we bring the headsets and our own staff to your museum and run the tour for your visitors. You see how visitors respond, how many take part and how it fits your space. At the end we share the numbers with you and discuss whether, and how, to continue.
What equipment do you use?
We use standalone Meta Quest 3 headsets, so there are no cables, computers or tracking sensors to install. A typical set-up is 10 to 20 headsets, a charging station and a small seating or standing area. We bring and maintain all of it.
How much space do we need?
Very little. Visitors stay in one place, seated or standing, while the tour moves them through the scene, so a quiet corner or a small room for a group is enough. We will look at your space with you before the trial.
Do visitors need to use controllers or buttons?
No. Our tours are worked by gaze alone. A small dot sits in the middle of the view: looking at the Begin or Language button for a moment presses it. Once it starts, the tour is fully guided, so visitors simply look around and listen.
